The International Press Centre (IPC) is established for the purpose of contributing to a free and well informed news coverage from Denmark and to offer professional assistance to foreign journalists who are stationed in or visiting Denmark. It is also home of the Foreign Press Association, which has approximately a hundred members.
IPC was founded in 1978 and initially located at the Journalists’ House at Gammel Strand, then 1988-1995 at Snaregade 14, and now at Vestergade 2 near Gammeltorv.
Each move has improved the Center’s space and updated its professional equipment, hence IPC is equipped with modern technology, and its “hyggelige” cozy environment remains unchanged.
The centre has 650 M2 of modern working space, including several offices that are rented to foreign correspondents stationed in Copenhagen. It has a press conference room, a reading room, a kitchen and other facilities. Stationed and visiting correspondents can, furthermore, log on to the centers 20 Mbit download and 10 Mbit upload LAN and wireless LAN with their own computer or use one of six computers available at the centre.
We offer a wide variety of Danish, Nordic and other foreign newspapers and magazines. We have radio, television, fax, telephone, a projector for laptops, an overhead projector, and a whiteboard. We also have have two soundproof booths and one of them is equipped with an ISDN-connection, an ISDN-mixer, and a headset to facilitate radio broadcasting.
